Julia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) and has witnessed the positive effects of talk therapy in her own life and that of clients. Living in our busy and complex world and having goals and ambitions challenges our internal experience and relationships at home and work, even affecting performance. Many of us hope for balance and a feeling of equilibrium, meaning we don’t feel rocked off our path when life challenges emerge. The way we think and feel about each turn along our path can dramatically impact our sense of health and happiness.
Julia works primarily with individuals who consider themselves high-performing. Often, outward levels of success bring feelings of anxiety, imposter syndrome, perfectionist tendencies, and even sometimes depression. Worry and self-doubt can feel like constant background noise. Using a relational and inquiry-based process, Julia helps her clients redefine their priorities and find a mindful approach to living that allows them to feel present. With this comes the freedom to integrate the outside persona with an inner life; that is where a feeling of balance comes from.
Building on a 30-year career as a movement coach, Julia knows how to build alliances that support individuals in creating change. Julia trained at the University of Toronto (where she received the prestigious Billes Scholarship) and worked as an intern in the mental health, medicine, and emergency wards at MacKenzie Health. Julia’s style is compassionate and psychodynamic, inviting insights to emerge from both therapist and client.
Julia books clients for 20-30-minute initial consults to determine if the therapist and client are a good fit. Please reach out via email.
